Fragmented luster is about transforming metal into a flexible structure inspired by the behavior of textile. By making simple repetitive incisions, in geometric patterns that can create a volume out of a flat surface.
When you apply pressure to it, the metal expands and the pattern is opened up, creating a soft outlook from this hard surface, forming intriguing volumes that through the day transforms as the sunlight moves over it and refracts into the room like a gemstone. (see video above)
In the night, the character changes as an ambient glow pours out from inside, empowering the pattern as light shimmers and reflects off the fragmented surface, producing an organic structure within the light itself.
